CSWC protects our precious watershed and educates youngsters and oldsters about this resource– the Columbia Slough.
An evening of glamor and entertainment at the 14th Annual Slough Celebration! Help celebrate our 2012 Slough Award recipients. And help raise funds for education, restoration, and activities. The event will include a silent auction, raffle and special appeal.
The Columbia Slough was once alive with hundreds of thousands of birds and other wildlife. In his journals, Meriwether Lewis wrote of not being able to sleep for the noise of honking geese. It became the sewer of northern Portland, channelized, drained and dumped in. Now, it is in renewal, home again to otters, beaver, herons, bald eagles and more.
